Welcome to our guesthouse in Karakol. Gulzhan Kozhomkulova and Andre Wolkorte together with her sons, Timo and Said, we have been living in Karakol for seven years. We have mad each other in 2007 with a Dutch scout project in Kyrgyzstan. After one year we married and lived in the Netherlands for 1,5 year. In 2010 I have quitted my job because we have decided to move to Kyrgyzstan.
We bought a property with a small house on it next to the Karakol river. We build a new guesthouse here with our own hands. For the design we have used a lot of own creativities ideas. We opened our house in 2014 with 6 bed rooms. It was from the beginning on a great start. The last years we have expanded our guesthouse till 10 bed rooms and two yurt places. Our clients are coming now from all over the world to stay at our place.
The last year I have established a tourist consortium team with 5 other members working in tourism sector to improve the quality of tourism. Together with USAID we have organized trainings for owners and managers for guesthouses. And maked preparations for constructions of a new park called Riverpark along the Karakol river. The consortium team has already been growing to 40 new members.
